Two baby tour!

Saturday in Okinawa

This afternoon we ate lunch at what "we" Americans call the Vending Machine Restaurant. When we can't read the sign we just make up our own name! It works! Let me show you why we call this restaurant what we do!

 This is how you order! When you walk in there is a machine that you put your yen in, make your selection, get your ticket and sit down! The food is then prepared and brought to your table.

We order the garlic fried rice every time! It is so delicious! It comes out smokin' hot and you have to mix in your egg for it to cook! That Pepsi cost Y100 which is $1.20- it's tiny and there is no such thing as a free refill!                                           

After lunch we took a drive. I took this picture from our van driving down the highway! So beautiful!

We pulled on the side of the road and took these pictures. The bridge crossed over to another island. So we went over and checked it out!

We ended up finding this beach called Ikei Beach or Ikei Island. I found my new summer spot! Only 30 minutes from our house!

We had such a blessed day! I'm so ready for summer!

Our home, Our van

I can't complain. At the beginning of every month we don't have to pay rent or utilities. It's crazy that my family or friends have never been to my house nor seen the van I drive. So welcome to my home! I hope your enjoying a nice beverage while I take you on this tour, because if you were actually here I would have something ready for you!

The Entrance...

 

Every one's entrance on base looks pretty much identical.  You can add your name to the outside of your door if you choose. I did, because it adds a little personal touch.

Immediately when you walk in our front door your in the living room.

We decided to paint our living room. Most people don't because when you leave you have to paint it back. We also added this rug.

So from here I will show you our dining room and kitchen!

The dining room is small, but we make do.

This is the view from the kitchen sink. Behind the curtain is my washer and dryer.

 And, this is my kitchen. I have lots of counter space and storage.

We only have 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, but like I said I'm not going to complain!

Chet's room is also our spare bedroom. It still needs a little work...

I have to tell you the story about our van. A lady from my bible study was getting ready to leave island and she couldn't find a buyer. My neighbor had told her that we were interested in buying a bigger vehicle so she approached me about buying it. At the time we were not ready to purchase because we hadn't saved yet. She told me to make her an offer. So Lucas and I decided we could pay $400 dollars and they took it!!!!! It was such a blessing! It's a Toyota Noah and it runs great!!

Oh, if I could bring this back to the states I would! LOL! I always joke and say it looks like some kind of shuttle from Disney Land! LOL! I love this thing!!

Let me leave you with this...It doesn't matter how small or big your house is. What matters most is that God is present in your home! I strive for that feeling everyday!  I love this bible verse, it's so true!!!

The Devil is real

This past October I was homesick. I had a new baby and all my family was 9,000 miles away. Two of my sisters back home in Springfield, MO had also had babies. I needed to go home. I wish my husband had felt the same way. Long story short we had a huge argument. I wanted to go-he wanted me to stay. In that moment of selfishness I was not praying. The devil attacked me...it was really bad, to the point that I didn't call my self a Christan anymore...Ya, that's right! I went crazy! I was mad and angry and the devil saw opportunity to attack and that's exactly what happened.

Biblical, this is what happened to me...

In these moments when we doubt God we need to call upon his name! Pray through all the tough issues because Lord knows we all have our problems! I'm so glad my story has a happy ending. Our merciful God reached out to me and spoke to me through one of my fellow Christian sisters. It is so important to surround ourselves with other Christians. God told me that once I was a child of God I will always be child of God. I know he will never leave me nor forsake me. My husband realized how serious the issue was. He happily sent me home 4 days later! Praise God!

Everyday when I wake up I put on my armor- you should do the same! Give the Devil no room to dwell.

The good news is that God has already defeated the Devil for us! Even though he is real, God is still more powerful and always will be!
